The people from DF came to visit us for a couple of days. We all presented our projects on Wednesday. I forgot to mention, we all presented in Spanish! For some reason, I feel comfortable presenting in Spanish and I’m not as nervous as when I present in English. I think I’m not self-conscious about pronouncing words wrong in Spanish as I am in English ( I still can’t say “organization” right).
On Thursday we went to a conference put on by La Asociacion Mexicana de Psiquiatria.

We were there all morning and listened to several lectures about suicide.

Then we went downtown with the DF people. On the way there we always pass by this delicious ice cream place (Helados Barragan en la 16 de septiembre) so obviously I HAD to get some.

On this day I got nieve (o helado como dicen aqui) de aguacate! It was pretty good. After a while though, all I could taste was banana. I suspect they mix banana with the avocado but who knows… On another day I got nieve de amaretto. The sample tasted great but a whole scoop was too much, I honestly felt buzzed after, it might’ve been psychological though haha.
We were supposed to meet the DF people at “EL Parian”, an artisan market but when we got there the streets were closed, filled with vendors because they were celebrating “Corpus Cristi”- el cuerpo de Cristo. It was really fun walking around and seeing all the crafts and food they were selling.

Some of our group decided to go back home in a taxi but some of us wanted to walk back. On our walk back it started pouring! We were walking through the tarps and found some man selling ponchos.

In the spirit of adventure and because we were all wet anyway so we decided to keep walking. On our way home we walked past by a random bar so decided to go in and hang out while it rained.

The brought us duritos con salsa, cacahuates, wings and beans= all fo’ free. We had a lot of fun, chatting and laughing.
Then we had a very pretty walk home because the streets were wet and it looked very pretty with all the lights.

This was a very fun and spontaneous night!
